Course Description

The theory of the DAN Recreational Diver Medic course will be Blended learning which is an online training, at the end of which, you will be able to register for the practical section of the course that will take Two days

The DAN Recreational Diver Medical Technician course provides recreational, technical, and commercial divers with advanced emergency response skills for diving accidents and injuries.

Through blended online learning and intensive hands-on practice for two days, students gain knowledge and confidence to effectively assess patients, provide lifesaving interventions, and assist transport to definitive care.

Key topics covered include:

  • Patient assessment protocols and monitoring vital signs
  • Administering emergency oxygen, airway management, CPR, AED use
  • Treating environmental and pressure- related injuries like DCS
  • Managing wounds, bleeding, musculoskeletal trauma
  • Responding to poisonings, allergic reactions, seizures
  • Safety protocols for remote diving operations
  • Scene management and evacuation considerations

Upon completing the course, divers are certified as DAN Recreational Diver Medical Technicians, authorised to provide critical, often life-saving medical interventions in diving emergencies.

With expertise developed through this specialised training program, divers can help ensure the best outcomes when accidents happen and emergency support is needed. The lifesaving skills gained allow divers to provide a new level of protection for themselves and their teams.

If you are unable to do the practical face to face section (which we highly recommend) there is an option to do an online 3D simulation practical used by emergency services to update their skills.
